How Redneck is Too Redneck?

I think I have the answer to that. Last night while I was driving North on Highway #7 between Abas Esso and Stony Mountain was when I found my answer- to be exact. Travelling East on a gravel road, steadily approaching the highway was a tractor with its bucket up high. It wasn't that he was going to drive his tractor on the pavement, don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with tractors/farm machinery on the highway as my father is a farmer and I feel for those guys sometimes what with their "WIDE LOADS."
But this tractor had something large and long hanging from its bucket. And I really mean large. As I drew closer I knew it was the body of something. The way it was swinging in the wind. What struck me as really.. bizzare about all of this is that it was like.. prime time highway driving time and people and kids were on their way home. And this guy is just idling on the edge of the highway in his tractor while some dead carcass is swinging from his bucket. I went from thinking this creature was a cow, to a werewolf (damn you Twilight), to finally realizing that it was a dead Alpaca. So, obviously, being the budding blogger that I am, I did a swift Uturn at the next intersection and sped to catch this wild man and his dead Alpaca. I managed a really horrid picture that is absolutely nothing to brag about. But I wanted everybody else to see just how much redneck was too much redneck.

  1. That is great you could not write a better scenario, and good on you for your most swift u-turn and capturing such a candid shot, it is priceless, except for the alpaca of course, that shot cost him his life. My wierd sense of humor can only picture a group of alpacas playing their version of hangman, and this guy got it because someone never figured out the clue.
I love your writing style, you are so cute, I love the comment about the werewolf, which I have always had a thing for btw and wrote a pilot about one but that is a whole different conversation.

On a side note, I was so impressed reading your blog bio. I would love to hear more about your experience in Quebec and your involvement with Ovarian Cancer sometime. I ran for Breast Cancer two years ago and rowed on a dragon boat team to promote awareness as well.
Thanks for the compliment on the presentation, the kudos on the website goes to Brea, that was all her, but always nice to hear the compliment that I make a good old man propaganda sign. lol
You were great today in your writers craft presentation, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hope you have a great night watching planes and sipping on wine tonight and sorry I wrote an essay on your blog. :)

  3. That is it possible to stumble across a four-legged animal that usually inhabits Peru floating mid-air along the Manitoba prairie skyline would be kind of tickling, were it not ... macabre.

  4. Soooo...I have clearly missed some epic events in your life and i'm saddened by this realization. I would have loved to have been the first to recieve this gem of a photo via bbm! Next time maybe you'll think of me while you're u-turning for gorey dead carcasses.
    Yours truly,
    Me.

  5. Of all things, an alpaca? I think a werewolf is almost more believable...

  6. Apparently there are a couple of Alpaca farms around my turf. It's so unbelievable it must be true... right?
